Training & Experience

A bit about me: I started my training towards becoming a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist in 2017 after experiencing a breakdown in my marriage and becoming a single parent (my children are now teens). I needed a new purpose and to find myself again.

I attended college initially and then completed a degree with the highly reputable Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI). During training, I attended my own therapy, working on myself and my identity (who was I other than a mum?!). This experience was an eye opener and I use the understanding and acceptance I learnt still everyday.

I completed my placement with Living Without Abuse, working with domestic abuse survivors alongside volunteering with Sunrise Wellbeing CIC, seeing clients for their low-cost service.  This has been such a valuable experience that I keep links to the Sunrise team and promote their fantastic work.

I am passionate about helping my clients find their voice and connect with their true selves. I believe that we all have the capacity to change and grow when we get our needs met, and I hope to create an environment in which clients feel heard and truly seen. With me you can explore your past (connecting with your inner child), or delve deeper into your here and now experiences, often connecting how the past influences the present. I will always be honest and down to earth, and provide gentle challenges where needed. If this is sounds like what you need, then do get in touch.

I have experience with (but not limited to) working with:
